Meet

Nate Shannon

It has been my honor to serve as your State House Representative since 2019, working every day to make Michigan a better place to work, live and play. During my time in office, I’ve worked diligently on the priorities that matter most to our District: education, healthcare, public safety, infrastructure and the economy.

Before I was elected as State House Representative in 2018, I served on the Sterling Heights City Council. I also spent a decade as a high school economics, government and history teacher for L’Anse Creuse public schools in Clinton Township.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oakland University, and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Wayne State University.

My wife Lori and I have three great kids who we’ve been lucky to raise right here in District 58. My eldest daughter, Madilyn, attends Central Michigan University after graduating from Utica High School in 2020 and attending Shelby Junior High. My son, Brodie, and daughter, Elisabeth, attend Graebner Elementary School.
